KARIN LEUTHARDT

I was born on 4th july 1967 in Basle, Switzerland. At 18 i did an appre nticeship in a travel agency and worked several years in tourism.

My facination and love of horses began at the age of 7 and has never lessened.

Living close to the zoo i worked with the ponies, mucking out, grooming etc. which enabled me to have riding lessons . At 14 i went to a “conventional” riding school. After two years i realised that i needed something more and my search took me to Portugal where i fell in love with the Lusitano horses and the Classical-Iberian style of riding. I was trained by many prominent riders and for 15 years a famous Portugese horseman.

In 2000 i received my diploma from the Real Escuela Andaluca de Arte Ecuestre in Jerez.

At present i am trained by Javier Ruiz an ex trainer from the Royal horse school in Jerez who is now employed by Alvaro Domecque, one of the leading horse families in Jerez.

The horses show me the way by teaching me something new every day, making me what i am today.

I cannot imagine a world without horses, they are my life and inspiration . I would like to impart my knowledge to you. Riding is akin to searching for the Holy Grail.

He is my one and all. At ten years he is already a heartbreaker and has a lot of charm. From birth he has been very close to horses and all animals. He loves the nature as does Victor and I. He playes football and basketball. I dont think he will become a famous rider…
